Drive Shaft Clearance

Hey whats up, i have a 70 c10 shortbed and its bagged..the frame doesnt go all the way to the ground, but its pretty close. Maybe 4 inches away. but i was wondering, do i have to notch the cab for the driveshaft to fit when i lay it out? and if so how much and how far into the cab do i have to go? Please post some pics lemme see what you guys are doin..id really appreciate it Thanks

Some of the slammed guy's go with a 2 piece drive shaft. You run a fixed carrier bearing right at the back of the cab, that way you don't have to cut the cab floor up. The rear section of the drive shaft is the only movement you have as you raise and lower the suspension...

If you don't mind me buttin in I'd like to ask a question while on this subject. I shortened a long box frame of a 72 C10 by 17 inches to fit my 56 Ford panel, I'm planning on using the drive train from a 90 silverado. The transmission is longer than the original tranny Q1; how short can the front portion of the drive shaft be,or Q2; can I go with a one piece shaft,how long is too long. I'm only lowering the suspension 4 inches front and rear as the body has been lowered on the frame.

You shouldn't have to cut in much just below the gas tank. It doesn't even raise the gas tank. Unless you Z it then its a different story.
