Another new short bed
Well made a low-ball offer on a truck a few weeks ago and the owner
called and said come get it so here we go again 84 shortbed orginally a 305 /turbo350 combo but has a goodwrench 350 in the bay added in 89 and has 30k miles on it . It was looking kind of pityfull when I picked it up paint was dead looking, rusty rockers both sides but cheap is cheap so this is where we start killer vintage sound system with 3-6x9's and two four inch I especially love the WAY THE DASH SPEAKERS ARE SILICONED IN PLACE TO PREVENT RATTLES . looks bad but actually sounds pretty good dash hacked a bit for the head unit but fixable note siscone mounting method again any body ever seen seat material like this before ? the install is very professional or stock cool that the dealer had some one paint his ad on the tailgate spent some time waxed it up and painted the glaring white wheels and looks good . ordering some metal fo rocker and cab corners to get the little bit of rust out looks like a long term keeper Mark Last edited by impalamark; 09-14-2008 at 07:03 PM. |

Mark: You stole that one. Good find and good luck. That's a fine piece of Chevy to restore.

Re: Another new short bed
things are a little tough in florida
saw a 87 short bed stepper great shape 350/700r4 good air, 20's good paint no rust clean in and out and the guy sold it for $1,700 after two months of trying I didn't have it to give or it would be mine bad thing about this truck is pics don't show how ugly it looked before cleanup and how great it looks after rockers and cab corners shipped today so new metal soon Mark Last edited by impalamark; 09-15-2008 at 10:51 PM. |

Try one of those Dash Top covers from LMC. They are made in the USA.

Re: Another new short bed
They drilled through the back of the cab
I've seen worse hacking though. A few welds on the back of the cab, a new dash pad, and some love to the radio mounting area and it'll be cherry again.

Re: Another new short bed
Allen123 -hope grandma's couch looked better -still trying to figure out if it's stock
trim tag says brown and tan cloth Pyrotechnic -not the preferred method but well done no rust so far Thump16- four pick ups and a burb stripped for parts feels good but there's usually lots of chevys in the yard before they went out of sight in price it was 60's impalas Have a near perfect dash the right color that came out of the burb if I don"t use it I'll get a cover -plastic molded type used one before on my '86 Fun part will be the hacked dash for the stereo have a good dash from the burb to help one step at a time though rockers and cab corners then matching the paint thanks guys for the compliments. this was a great deal and I got it because I told the p.o. that it would be treated right and he would get first right of refusal when I look to sell. It was his dad's truck bought new dad passed in 2001 MARK Last edited by impalamark; 09-16-2008 at 08:43 PM. |

Re: Another new short bed
Sounds good, I am having my truck painted a similar color and the wheels are painted black. I think it may look good on mine as well.... THANKS!
