68 on 77 frame
I have a 1968 chevy c 20 step side that was my fathers truck. I just bought a 1977 chevy long bed half ton 4x4. Who out there has put a 67-72 2wd body on a later frame, what do i need to look out for, what is the best way to mount the cab, can it be done with simple hand tools, and are there any build up threads that i could read over.

Re: 68 on 77 frame
It can and has been done. The problem is the frame rise is under the cab on the 73 ups necesitating either a body lift kit or reworking the frame.

Re: 68 on 77 frame
how much body lift do you need? do you have to move the body mounts forward or back?

Re: 68 on 77 frame
you'll also need to relocate the rear axle, and more likely than not fab up cab mounts and core support mounts.

Re: 68 on 77 frame
My body man says a burb frame is what I should look for the next time. He thinks it would work better. My 67 is on a 77 chassis.
