Wow, a question I can actually help with...I would buy a MIG if ou have the resources to do so. Checkon Craigs list or Ebay to get an idea of prices for a good used one. I have a spot, stick, Acetylne and MIG welder...the MIG is like butter and has always built the best looking weld. Stick is the strongest I think, but mine always looks like hell, especially on the vertical welds.. Before you cut the frame, measue it about 30 times. Not sure I can help but happy to throw free opinions across the wall

nothing like a good old arc welder for doing a subframe. that camaro will be a good "doner" for your truck.
