Not sure what I will do ,,,, got any Ideas ?
I am about to install a new poly blazer tank in the rear of my truck frame .
I am going to use the filler neck from a doner truck that will fit in the rear corner of my bed . The filler neck will be one from the extra tank that trucks have that the filler neck is located at the front of the fender up high on the inside of the bed . The same as the blazer filler tube I am told.. This type of filler neck goes straight up the inside of the bed side and turns out through a hole just like the cab filler necks do ..except that this filler neck in the bed has a (chase as I call it ) that hides the filler neck and protects it all the way up to where it sticks out of the bed side . My truck is already painted and I would rather not weld onto the bed side to anchor the chase and filler neck and here is one reason why I ask of opinions on this what I am about to do.. I have a picture to show where I want to locate the filler neck and chase I have yet to get ,,I used a filler neck that I had only to illustrate where I am talking about.. The filler neck I have yet to get is one that I can turn complete opposite of the way it fits (180 degrees) ..that way it will enable me to put the gas hose nozzle into it to fill my tank. click to enlarge the picture .. thanks for reading such a long exclamation .. papa

Seems like you would have to glue or screw the chase/cover to the inside bed panel. I would think that the filler neck could be fastened to the inside of the chase/cover.... Just some thoughts. LockDoc

Thats kind of how I did mine. I used a Blazer tank and fill from a mid 70's Blazer.
Worked out pretty good, when I get the bed Coated it will look better. I have already redone the cover, these are older pics. Ron

I screwed the filler Neck Top to the top of the cover. The cover is just screwed on incase I need to get in there.
I have the hose clamped to the frame underneath. The wires are for extra grounding. I also shortened the filler neck so it would fit better. Cut out section then welded up. Ron

Any paint store should have the metal glue that you can use.

panel bonding adhesive (most new cars have some form of epoxy holding them together, it is better than welding so they say, and in your case will be perfect.
