AD truck with S-10 4x suspension ??

Let me throw this one out for discussion. What's the take on putting an S-10 4X4 front suspension with torsion bars minus 4x pieces under an AD truck?

I picked up a free 86 S-10 Blazer this week for the rear axle and got to looking at the front suspension. It is closer to the proper tread width and with the torsion bars the front end ride height is adjustable to a degree.

Currently the idea would be to use the stub on the 48's frame with the torsion bars and torsion bar crossmember.

Re: AD truck with S-10 4x suspension ??

I don't think I've ever looked under and seen the torsion bars on an s10. When I was younger I had a Nissan truck with torsion bars (I'm sure it's a close setup), With a some turns of the bolts I was able to get really low. I was told it wasn't safe since the torsion bars were almost maxed out. So I bought some longer aftermarket torsion bars for it just to be safe. Since you already have it. And, you say the tread width is there. I bet if you are successful you'll have a lot of guy's searching junk yards for torsion bars.

I'll have to wait until I get it stripped down to see. I have a guy who is supposed to come after about half the body parts tomorrow.
Free but I don't have to take them off. Then I can get the engine, trans and transfer and front center section out and see what I have.

I wonder if 2WD S10 front spindles will fit the 4WD balljoints and tierod ends?
That would be a cool setup.
