Re: Winter Plans for Your Ride?

Just sittin' - no plans. My primary focus is getting new business in this economy.

I may put the hard top back on in case it snows. My G35 probably won't be the best snow car.

Re: Winter Plans for Your Ride?

Just normal daily Drivin....

After my 57 trailer gets done being patched and painted.....

The Wifes Jeep gets hard topped & re-gasketed.....

The Hawg gets new rubber-fluids and a few repairs here and there.....

The D-2 CAT gets worked on.........

The K-20 gets the back half preserved and a new wood bed........

Then the K-5 gets the top pulled and a new windshield header welded in!

Finances flowing ok...about 5 months!

Well...I think you know what my plans are.

I think I'm going to sit down and make out a time line to see if it's possible to get mine drivable by July.

Re: Winter Plans for Your Ride?

What I'd like to do, and what the boss (wife) will let me do are two very different things. With the recent tranny build I'm not allowed to do any big stuff this winter. I'm

So....I'll be spending my time doing little stuff...aligning the hood (I haven't quite figured out that geometry yet...but I'm also dealing with aftermarket hood and fenders. Building the cable shifter setup for the 241. Lots of little cleanup bits here and there. Hatching my evil plan for a really long drive in July. And, oh yeah, driving it

Re: Winter Plans for Your Ride?

Oh man I have big plans! However, the "Misses" has big plans too....except hers do not involve '67 GMC SWB Trucks. Nonetheless I finally got the garage cleaned enough to get my ride out of the weather. I have the interior gutted so I can paint it. The last 2 weeks in December we have a PM shutdown at work- so I'll have like 16 days off (paid) to do my tranny swap (SM420 to TH400) fix the rust in the cab roof, rockers, and corners. Install the serpentine belt system, blast and line-x the bed floor and finally get the POS on the road!

Re: Winter Plans for Your Ride?

Great plans, sounds like more old trucks will be hittin' the road come spring.

I've got an entire build in front of me as well.

Along with that, two of my trucks currently have 'potential' buyers and if that does happen, add more body work/assembly to my plans.

Re: Winter Plans for Your Ride?

My K5 body work is nearly 90% done, looking for some better doors. Detailed most of motor and painted firewall last couple of weeks, plan on finishing body work and spray some paint when it warms up.

Maybe you'll have to have a work/beer party at your place this winter.

Re: Winter Plans for Your Ride?

Getting ready to start the Jimmy build. Dropped the frame off at the shop yesterday to make sure it's all straight and square. From there it's onto sandblasting and paint, suspension...and you know the rest. Can't wait!

Re: Winter Plans for Your Ride?

I have several things to do to get the mudder ready for the track in spring. Races usually start in late april depending on weather. I need to get my motor, trans, and t-case installed. Hookup drive shaft and install headers. I need to remove the top and add to the cage before i put on the bikini top and truck doors. Also have some slight suspension tweaking to do and add my D60 front axle. Also moving the radiator back up front. I started on the front axle the other day but I'm waiting on parts now. Jason

Re: Winter Plans for Your Ride?

No major plans for the K5, set the hard top on it last weekend, still need to bolt it down. Also, I've got a wiring issue I just really need to solve but have had time! Can't drive when need headlights right now so kind of makes it very difficult to drive to work since it is getting dark so early. Grrrr.

Also must find time to get the 69 K20 back together. Sadly I am making very little progress on finishing the transfer case swap. And I really enjoy driving it in the winter, so I must get it done!!!!

I've been shimming and have the doors dang close on the Jimmy, then I can install my new carpet. To make a long story short I'm working toward it being drivable next spring.
