Re: back half projects
Interesting build. Are you going to disconnect the leafs when you complete the rear links, or are you planning on running leafs, with those upper links and the track bar? Looks like a lot of binding, the leafs and the links will create bind, because they will both have different travel paths. Also, the leafs hold the rear end by itself, and the track bar will try to pull against it. I'm guessing that your replacing the leafs, but just using them to locate everything?
Just wondering.

Re: back half projects
Here's what I'm currently doing. I didn't feel the need to cut off the rear of the frame since we can fit a 15x15 rim pretty easily with a narrowed rear end with no frame modifications. I'm running a 16x12 wheel with 31x17 tires, so you can see how much extra room is available.

Re: back half projects
It was a challenge! I have her up on jack stands! Taking pictures on my Blackberry, different angles on cold concrete floor! I wish I had a Hydraulic Lift to raise'er up in the there. It's going to be heck cleaning her underneath. But, that's the life of a poorman! Beating, banging, cussing, throwing wrenches, cutting, welding, ordering parts, more cussing, fabricating, more cutting, beating and banging, autozone, wrong dang part, more cussing. . . But when she's done! Step back and gaze at her with a smile. . Take her to the local Dragway, STAND HER ON THE BACK BUMPER! ! ! !

Re: back half projects
Yeah....looks good! The good thing is in 1963 they changed the Frames on 63's to the ladder style frames. 1960-1962's half-ton and 3/4-ton cab models utilized a drop-center, X-type frame assembly. This was necessary to beef up the frame because of the new four-wheel independent suspension system, especially for the front torsion bars. I didn't care for it. 1963 replaced the light-duty model's torsion bar front suspension with coil springs. A plus! My 62 had self adjusting brakes. Could never get them to do right. Did a hard stop once and wound up in a 360 Degree spin! After that I cut that son of a gun off and put an IFS on her. I took alot of weight off the front end when I stubed the Mustang II IFS on her! When I beef the motor up! I hope to put stand her on the back bumper!!!!!!!!!
