79 GMC BURBAN 350 SEEMS KINDA LIMITED
OK, HERE'S THE DEAL..... I'VE HAD THIS TRUCK FOR 2 YEARS AND HAVEN'T HAD ANY MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH IT..... IT'S A 3 SPEED WITH A GRANNY LOW... NOW I LOOK AT OTHER PEOPLES TRUCKS AND THEY CAN REV PRETTY HIGH.... MINE WON'T .. DIDN'T THINK IT WAS A BIG DEAL UNTIL I PUT A BOLTED A TACH ON.... SHE DOESN'T REALLY GO ABOVE 3500 RPM??? I DON'T THINK I'VE EVER HEARD OF A TRUCK THAT LOW.... I GET HER ON THE HIGHWAY, AND I'LL BE GOING ABOUT 75 (SPEEDO CABLE IS BROKE) AND I'M AFRAID TO TAKE HER ABOVE 3500 RPM... WHAT DO YOU THINK? SHE'S A PULLER, AND I HAVEN'T EVER HAD ANY BIG ENGING TROUBLE, BUT I JUST FEEL THAT SHE COULD BE DOING MORE!! ANY IDEAS?

It could be lots of things. My truck does close to the same thing, and I like it. It doesnt like pulling in second on mine, just 1st or high.

timing problems, try advancing it a few degrees or chekc your advance weights under the dizzy cap, are probably frozen siezed.
A normal 350 will easily and very quickly jump to well over 3500 if theres nothing wrong with it. Its the olds caddy engines that wont rev like that, their initial advance is way higher than Chevy is. good luck ------------------ A 68 C-10 panel and a 68 dually C-30 dump truck and a couple 71/72 chassis projects.
