Used $200 Air Suspension kit, is it worth it?

My cousins neighbor got this suspension in a car deal, they know NOTHING about it and couldn't see any names on any of the parts. Is it worth $200 in possible parts + an 1 1/2 drive. My 67 has been begging for an air ride system, but my budget doesn't allow one yet.

what brand valves are those? the coil should have a name on them if they are asco's, it would be worth it. you could prolly sell those air cylinders on another web site.

The red compressors look like AIM, airbagit's. Wouldn't trust those at all personally. Asco's I'd trust, but the rest I'd be worried about. Not much besides valves could be used on your truck, the rest is all stuff you could sell, but even then, good luck selling AIM parts. I'd wait and buy all new quality stuff.

those cylinders are not made to handle the weight of a truck. plus they ride like ****. so i'd say no all that stuff is pretty out dated

Re: Used $200 Air Suspension kit, is it worth it?

Thanks for all the replies. I wound up picking up the system dirt cheap. I know most of the stuff isn't quality, but I'm happy with the Ascos valves and fittings. The rest I'll try to liquidate.

air the things to the left of the air tanks, more air tanks?
im assuming they are, and with those, cylinders ride well because the air has somewhere to move. but cylinders only belong on imports.
side note on the tanks- they should have a dot number on them. is not, they arent safe to use.

accumulator tanks is my guess .. cylinders don't have the "give" a rubber-bladder style bag has, so when the cylinder is suddenly compressed (bumps / dips in the road) the air has somewhere to to go instead of trying to feed back into the fully pressurized tank.

I don't know how many gallons, my guess which could be way off is maybe like a gallon each. They're pretty small, about 17"x5", looks kinda like a small fire extinguisher.

Yes those are accumulators for the cylinders. It all appears to be AIM excepot the valves. We use Asco exclusively(except for the Accuair)and have had no problems in 3 years.

if your dimensions are correct, those are a tad under 1.5 gallons each.

gets you the area of a circle, then multiply by the length of the cylinder and divide by 231 (cubic inches in a gallon). the answer is not exact due to the curved ends of the tank.
