53 Bed to Frame mounts

After setting up the bed for my 53 and placing it back on the chassis I noticed that the frame was shorter to the rear of the bed mounts.
I was under the imperssion that all 47 to 53 frames for the short bed were the same. I started this as a "new" to me chassis for a 47 to 53 but after installing the bed it seems to be 1 to 2" shorter.

Re: 53 Bed to Frame mounts

mine isn't that much better i don't know why but the frame rails don't extend much past where there attached to the bed. your bed dosen't look like a long bed either so long as you can bolt the bed down you should be fine... unless your planning on big heavy loads

Re: 53 Bed to Frame mounts

The frame was a roller when I got it and all I did was check it from corner to corner and it was within a 1/8" so I bought it.
I will extend it a few inches and mount the bed where the front mounts fall and make new rear ones.
Thanks for helping solve the mystery!!
