Re: Porterbuilt Dropmembers & 22's on my 77 Ebay truck
I have had a few people ask about the C.V style driveshaft. It's basically a double u-joint set up that can take more angle and not bind up like the stock single u-joint. Most lifted 4x4 guys use c.v's on front drive shafts due to the angle and short length. With around 12"-14" of total drop, it was one way to get around driveshaft bind at full dump.

Re: Porterbuilt Dropmembers & 22's on my 77 Ebay truck
It was shortened, right? Going to the local driveshaft shop and ask about this double joint set up. Mine has a little vibration at full dump.

Re: Porterbuilt Dropmembers & 22's on my 77 Ebay truck
Our local driveline shop was able to do the job at $375.00. The c.v yoke for a turbo 350 part #3103-27cv, the weld yoke for the driveshaft is #2-28-3817x, the center yoke for the c.v is # 7-0082 and the c.v yoke is part # 2-26-507. I went ahead and changed the rear joint as well, all three u- joints are the same...part #1-0153 The rear u-joint will be different if you have a 10 bolt, but all the other numbers will be the same (as long as you have a 2 3/4" diameter drive shaft tube) All these part numbers will cross to Spicer part #'s. So you should have about $295.00 in parts and $80.00 in labor...but being able to hook up your driveshaft....priceless!!

Re: Porterbuilt Dropmembers & 22's on my 77 Ebay truck
Man that thing sit right. Even though it's on the ground it still has a little hotrod rake. I love em low, but they still need some rake to emit that cocky hotrod attitude.
The poverty bumpers work with the theme, but I think chrome would set it off.
