Right side driver C10?
Okay, so I got to thinking about something really crazy that I've seen in the import world but wondering if it has ever been done to a C10. Has anyone ever seen or performed moving the driver's side from the left to the right (like European cars)? ...Curious as to what would be involved...

He went thru all the trouble to make it look factory yet didn't move the hand choke?

Re: Right side driver C10?
Supposedly it's a factory job. When I posted the pics of it the first time someone else found some pics of when it was on ebay before it got the shop truck graphics added to it. It was reportedly built for export and never left the country. No idea why the choke wasn't moved. May have something to do with where the linkage goes on the carb...But I have no clue.

Re: Right side driver C10?
I didn't realize the factory ever stamped the dash sheet metal with OUT the radio cut-outs. Usually all the "holes" are stamped at the same time. As far as the choke, that is a cable style choke and it wouldn't matter where it's located. Think of the "Fast-Slow" cable on a push mower.
Something else that strikes me as strange is the column shifter has been moved to the opposite side of the column, yet the accelerator, brake and clutch pedals keep their original "right to left" configuration, just moved to the other side of the cab. I'm NO expert on these things, just my observations. Regardless, it's a very very cool ol' truck. Thanks for sharing those pics. |

Re: Right side driver C10?
I remember seeing some pictures in a magazines some time back of a squarebody suburban that was converted to righthand drive.

Re: Right side driver C10?
I kinda figured that they might have come off the line like that stock, but I wonder how much is different (besides the obvious). Not sure I will do it to my current truck but may do it to another later on down the road.
Anyone know where I could find a parts list to do this conversion? |
