Re: 65 window re install

Hardwaa and I just did this to his truck. I have installed many windshields in various cars and trucks and this was one of the most difficult installs i've done , so my advice is find someone who has some experience even if it means letting a few moths outa the wallet!Good luck.

Re: 65 window re install

If you put things together in the right order, it's not too bad. I usually put the vent and the regulator in first then the glass. get that started in the track then line everything up and bolt it down. The trick is leave it all loose until the end. If you cant get it, I'll be down your way in the next week or 2 I can swing by and give you a hand if you need it. Feel free to hit me up if you have questions.

Re: 65 window re install

i appreciate it man we got one thru trial and error and the next one will be a breeze only problem we are having witht eh drivers do is that the door wont shut right with the new rubber, before the new rubber it you still had to slam it but now that its an issue im thinkin it might be the door latch that has just been worn out and the gear inside wont quite click on the last tooth it needs to

sorry to ramble, but any thoughts?

It could be a worn out latch, but check the striker (piece on the body) and see if that's adjustable. I cant remember. Watch it as you close the door and see if it's lining up. Usually having to slam the door is worn out hinges. pick up and down on the door and see if you have play. If all that is ok you might just have to wait until the rubber gets broken in and it will probably get easier. Also the door guts add weight, and might make it sag some where you need to readjust it.
