trailing arm question???
My drivers side trailing arm has some seperation in the halfs.. Can i take a couple of the rivets out clean it up clamp it back together and weld... or should i try and find a replacement for this???? thank you for your time...

I would weld them up even if they weren't separating. I've used the weld-in reinforcement plates (weld to the top and bottom of the arms) that a few vendors sell in the past on a set of trailing arms with excellent results. Good luck.

i question the need for more rigidity...i believe the original arms were designed to have some flex....but anyway
yes you can weld them up

One thing to remember is that they are not riveted together; they are plug welded. The best way to separate them is cut the welds with a sawzall. You will most likely have dirt and debris trapped in there also. After you split them and clean them, weld them back together.
