Re: lets see some engines!

Here'e's my 350 4 bolt being tested before it went in the truck. I think it would be happier with a high stall converter than a heavy clutch. Oh well....

Re: lets see some engines!

Well, 87 Bob, YES I would do it again for sure. I bought this truck from a gentleman who had the motor built at a shop. I just took the rest of the truck and made it pretty. BUT I did own an 84 long bed with a 350 and there is in my opinion at least, NO comparing the two. (350vs383) keep in mind my 383 has worked over heads, a pretty thumpin' cam. and forged guts. If I were you I would not be shy to do the swap. Get a feel for how you like it and then start saving up for heads and a big nasty carb! My setup is in the high 14's on street tires down the 1/4, so do the math and decide what you are after. Hope this helps ya

Re: lets see some engines!

well everything else is gonna be custom built so why not hte frame too... its already backhalfed but if i do go with the 572 im not gonna go with a body drop im gonna just get the whole frame done... its an 87 but just like all my other "projects" its always changing or evolving. i havent drivin it since early spring because i blew the motor. thats when i decided it was time for it to evolve and havent looked back since. it started off as this..

and this is the last picture i have of it...

Re: lets see some engines!

In looking i guess i never had a pic of the engine compartment all fresh and clean when i put the new motor it... Now its so dirty its embarrassing!

Its a 96 vortec 350 roller motor out out of a 3/4ton 4wd with edelbrock performer rpm airgap intake and a 670 holley street avenger. wish the harness hadnt have been cut when i got it, but tbi was more of a project than i wanted at the time, so i sold it... New distributor going in soon with MSD ultimate HEI internals...

What i started with, all cleaned up and ready to go in, and then a pic of what she replaced...
