Something different

hey guys, i have a 12 in rockford sub between my bucket seats in my 79. so im wanting to push it back against the backwall of the cab. but there is a dip where the bench seat was so it got me thinkin. i found a 6x9 speaker box that im goin to wedge under it and screw into place. so it 1. suports the sub box for a good even armrest and 2. lets me add another speaker, speaker #8. it sucks tho because i only need one rockford 6x9!! im not goin to buy 2 when i only need one!! any ideas? so i thought it looked pretty cool, heres some pics

Re: Somthing different

well upon further reseach and devlopment, i realized that i have holes in the pillers where the coat rack thing was and where the cargo light switch was, so im gonna add 2 more tweeters then i was thinkin that i have to many speakers hooked up to my head unit, so i need another amp. i had this just layin around, i had it in my old car with a set of 10 in sony explodes, the only thing i would have to put them in would by my 92 ext cab, and im gonna redo that system in do time, so im gonna test it and see how it sounds and use the one im using now for the new speakers

so im now lookin for one 6x9 and another set of speakers for 10 in total, im gonna be deaf at a young age

Re: Something different

whered you get the kickpanel speaks from? did you like the fit/install? Ive been thinking about picking a set for the farm truck.

What are the buckets out of? i assume you swapped your stock bench out for them?

Id love a set of factory lowbacks.

Re: Something different

i got the kickpanels from 73-87chevytrucks.com. they where pretty easy to hook up and work like a charm. the seats r out of a camero.

yea 10 speakers in a cab of a truck, its so loud now, i can hear it in my driveway from blocks away, the mids and high r incrediable

Re: Something different

Modify that 6x9 box so it will take dual 4 inch or 5.25 inch speakers. I think you'd be far happier with that arrangement. All you need is to enlarge the opening and use another piece of wood or metal to make a plate to hold the 2 speakers.
