CPP upper ball joints 1960

Hi all, having some issues with fitment of the upper ball joints from CPP and my stock arms.. They just do not want to sit down into the arm correctly and I am left with more than 1/10 of an inch of space between the arm and the ball joint flange thus would cause the flange to bend down to the arm when tight. I put mic's on the ball and the stock ball joint is 1/10 of an inch smaller in diameter? I contacted CPP, emails have been slow to exchange about the issue, I have been told these are correct although the just dont seat correctly? The arms are orig so not sure what is going on here, anyone else have an issue like this?

Thanks

Do a search, this has been discussed before. I'll try to find it for you.

Aye I thought I read something about it someplace here awhile back but I cannot remember where and cannot seem to find it in the search.. Even thought it might have been when I was looking up 72 stuff but cant seem to find anything there either.. Just odd, should be a bolt and go..

Thanks

Re: CPP upper ball joints 1960

I have spoke with them and honestly after the last week and how they have delt with me my money will go elsewhere. I have been told that the hardware sent was probably mixed up and they sent metric and I have been told that all balljoints are made bigger to make up for slop in the A arm. Answers have been very short with limited information at best. Finally got an RMA number.. Hope they atleast honor my return as atm I am ready to pay triple to any company over CPP.. Never been delt with like this anywhere before.. Anyhow thanks for trying, now I just have to find a company that does not deal at all with CPP.

Thanks again

Wow , that sucks. Hopefully they will give you a refund. I've bought tons of parts through Classic parts of america and LMC and never had any problems. I never bought any ball joints from them either, so I cant help you there. Good luck with what ever you do.

Ya, you would think especially with the country atm they would want to hang onto customers.. I have purchased just about everything for my susp from them so far, just started on the front with a spindle conversion working to the back even forked out the cash for the trailing arms.. It is all going back over a poor attitude from a CS.. Vote with your feet I alway say.

Re: CPP upper ball joints 1960

Sorry to hear about your problems with CPP. I can't help with your balljoint problem but I do know on the 73-up you can get standard balljoints or oversize balljoints(to make up for any wear as mentioned above).

Also, CPP has a sponsor section on another board that seems to be replied to fairly often with decent results. I'm not sure what the rules are about posting links or names of other boards, so PM if you're interested.

Re: CPP upper ball joints 1960

Are you putting the grease seal on first cuz thats what I did and I had the same problem put the ball joint through the A-Arm first then put the seal on from the underside
