Original Mustang II under 48 wondering if I will need drop spindles

The truck I bought has an original, not aftermarket mustang II under it. The work all looks very nice. It does not have an engine, interior or really any weight on it at this time. I want to get the truck reasonably low without air bags. Anyone got any pictures of this type of setup, it will have a SBC and 350 tranney? I would be curious how the truck will look with and without drop spindles. Thanks for any help.

For mock up what you can do is remove the springs and lower it down so the lower arm is level with the ground. That is were it needs to sit for good road manors. Then you can see if you want it 2" lower you will need drop spindles and if you like the look you are set! Hope that makes sense. Now once you get the whole thing together you can play around with 4cyl, 6cyl springs to see what works best to get you as close to the level mark and then cut some spring off to get it just right.

Re: Original Mustang II under 48 wondering if I will need drop spindles

OK, checked it out and looks like I will probably need the drop spindles to get me where I want to be. Next question. Is there a particular drop spindle that will simply interchange with the factory spindle so that all my brake setup will still mount properly? I see a lot of the drop spindles on ebay and such. I assume the forged are better than cast?? Thanks for the help.

On my 51 I went with a TCI front end and everything looks to be of good quality. I would call them up and ask if their spindles are interchangable with what you have but I think they are. http://www.totalcostinvolved.com/
