Question Van bumper????

I was in the yard looking for a front bumper for my 77. They seem to look a whole lot like the late 80's early 90's gmc conversion van bumpers. are they intact the same?

Re: Van bumper????

It won't directly bolt on. the framerails on pickups and vans is different. the vans framerails are a good bit farther apart than a trucks so all the bolt holes will be wrong, even the outer ones that attach to the braces. otherwise the shape/size is the same. you can use bumperguards from a van though on a same style pickup bumper

Re: Van bumper????

Are any parts of a van usable?? I have a 1984 van I picked up for the cost of towing. I am going to pull the motor but wondered about the control arms and the rear end? Anything usable on my 1980 short truck??
Thanks

Re: Van bumper????

According to Hollander, the spindle/knuckle and the upper control arm from the van is a direct swap to the truck, but the lower control arm and the rear axle are not.

Hollander also says the coil springs (but not the leaf springs), as well as the rotors, calipers and mounting brackets all will work.

Rear disc swap & Hydroboost

Maybe some new body panels
Who needs a car when they make crew cab trucks?
