Not my bike. Wish it was. I was fishing at a state park last fall and this guy with the bike stopped and wanted pics with it. It was pretty cool. I will have more pics of my work in progress soon.

Re: Derider's 66 C10 Step

Here are some more pics of my first projects. I installed a reciever hitch and some air bags so I could lower it and pull my boat. I just air it up to 90 psi, and the boat sits perfect.

Talking Re: Derider's 66 C10 Step

Thanks guys. I got this truck last summer. I used to have a 68 Chevelle, 4spd, 396, 4:10 gears. Had to sell it 11 years ago when I got married. Since then we got into boating so my wife pretty much said what would you do with a car when you already have a boat. So.....I started working the truck angle. Said what if I get a truck and set it up to pull the boat! She wasn't totally opposed so I started keeping my eyes open. Well about 2 weeks later we were on our way to the lake and low and behold here is this truck parked at a gas station on the way. Vintage I wanted, color (my boat is all black to it makes a good rig), stepside! So I call the number on it and I immediately recognized the guys voice. Turns out it is a kid I grew up with and his dad and my dad cruise their cars together. No way, then my wife said you are going to buy it aren't you, and I said, "YES"!

The truck has a 350 out of a 72 camaro and a M21 tranny that is a 67. The tranny was popping out of 2nd and 4th gear when you let off the gas so my next project was some tranny work. Here are some pics. I put in new bearings and synchro hubs and now she shifts nice and stays in gear. Here are some pics.

Re: Derider's 66 C10 Step

It runs great but leaks oil from everywhere like most small blocks do eventually! I hate leaks so I decided just to pull it clean it up and reseal it. I really wanted to get new inner fenders cause mine have rust where they meet the radiator support, but I bought a CPP disc brake kit and don't have the funds to do that yet.

Re: Derider's 66 C10 Step

More pics of gitting ready to pull the motor. Wired up the M21 tailhousing so I could just leave the tranny in. Also this is the first time I used one of these plates on the intake to pull the motor, worked slick. As soon as I got the pressure off the input shaft it popped right off, with the plate there is no bind.

Re: Derider's 66 C10 Step

Thanks I can't wait to see it all clean! Here are some more motor out and ready to pull flywheel off. Rear main leak much? No wonder clutch would slip sometimes. Now my rust protection will be gone! Here is motor clean and ready to reseal.

Re: Derider's 66 C10 Step

Got some more pics uploaded. I checked all the codes on the block and heads. The motor is out of a 72 Camaro, and has the 010, 020 block which is high nickel and high for another metal as well. I guess they are supposed to be stronger. Got the truck covered trying to keep as clean as possible, seems like everything you do creates dust.

Keep us posted on your progress, It's looking good!
Digital cameras are great for saving linkages, plumbing, and electrical.
Awesome for serpentine belt set-ups.
The kinda stuff that makes you scratch your head and say "this goes where?"

Re: Derider's 66 C10 Step

Haven't posted any progress pics. I am way behind on this as I am already driving the truck for the summer. But have been really busy working on it to get it ready for a show a couple weeks ago. But these are pics of the oil pan getting ready to go back on. The read sealant is anarobic sealer, read this is good to use in those corner. We will find out after we drive it for a bit.
