Question 64 1ton to 5 lug conversion?

Looking at a 1 ton panel, but want to run 5 lug wheels.

what is required to change it over?

There are unlimited choices of eight lug wheels, so the money you would save on doing the conversion can be spent on the wheels and tires of your choice.

not 100% positive, but I think it would be the same as converting a 64 -6 1/2 ton
just use a 73-87 front suspension, and rear axle, depending on the rear springs, leaf or coil change to a lighter duty or lowering spring.

Just convert it to a '73-'87 C10 suspension. If you can find a complete parts truck (suspension wise), that would make it easier. Of course if you plan to upgrade the drivetrain as well, finding a truck with that would be good as well.
