What would this panel be called?

I need this panel for the drivers side and was wondering what it would be called. It is the black panel between the door hinges and the firewall. This is on the passenger side.

LMC sells some nice kick panels with speaker cut-outs. If you're gonna replace them anyway, you may want some "tunes" too.

Re: What would this panel be called?

Cowl woul be the area between the windshield and hood, that is a kick panel, or inside lower "A" post. At least that's what we called them the 13 years I built new trucks at the factory.

Re: What would this panel be called?

If your going to order them it's listed in all the parts books that I have seen as the inner Cowl panels.
Most of the books have a pic with a part #. The outer cowel is the space between the doors and the front fenders. Then there's a inner to outer cowl between them. The cab cowl is the area between the windshield and hood.

you are right, thats what they call them in the parts catalog that I have also, that's just not what we called them at the factory, I was just pointing out what the manufacturer calls it during production and that there is more than one name. I just always refer to a cowl being behind the hood (or the bonnet...LOL)

Re: What would this panel be called?

For somereason they are called Inner Cowl Panel in all the catalogs that I looked in. When we were searching for the panels l would look for kick panels with no luck and just happened on the inner cowl panel by accident on day. I have a few pictures in my build that shows me replacing them.

Re: What would this panel be called?

My so called 47/54 assembly manual that I picked up off Ebay (actually a nice 54 assembly manual) says it is the inner cowl panel.
