Blazer Bucket application

OK...so I have some Buckets and console out of an old K5 that I picked up very cheap and obviously there need to be some sort of modification needed due to the mounting holes and hump in the floor on my 1/2 ton....I am sure this has been posted elsewhere but i am unable to locate a thread explaining it...I'm thinking I need to do some sort of bracket change?? Keep in mind that I am 6'4 and need all the head room I can get... if nothing else I am gonna cut 4 or so inches out of these brackets and modify them to work...I tried to attach a photo showing the style I have

Pic isnt working...sorry...you guys know what I'm workin with...its the high back buckets

Re: Blazer Bucket application

For a minimum of fuss, try to find seat brackets from a suburban with buckets, if you can't get the truck brackets. I understand the sub brackets are the easiest ones to make work when the truck brackets are unavailable.

Re: Blazer Bucket application

You will need to locate a set of truck brackets if you want to use factory items. The catch is the truck brackets are welded to the floor pan. If you find a set in a salvage yard, you can cut them out and bolt them in from there.

Re: Blazer Bucket application

The piece you have to cut out is the front inside track mount. It will be on a Burb also. 73-87.com has a template you could bend out of steel tack to the floor and you could be done. Suburban brackets (for bucket seats) will work by just bending the rear up too the contour of the floor.

That site is awesome..VERY informative...gonna be a good resource for objectives in the future...I plan on makin a run this weekend and into next week looking for Tailgate band, cab trim (band), interior trim and possibly these tabs....that interior he has done looks great...also the info on the tach conversion was very intersting...think I'm gonna be lucky and get away with the plug-in-play category...have to look a lil deeper into what I have exactly....great stuff though...thanks everyone
