Would someone measure this for me?

I tried asking this in anothe rthread without 1 reply.. All it ism is a simple measurement.

I need to know the distance from the door opening on the cab at floor level to the end of the running board towards the back tire inside longest point...

That is all I need.. Oh for both sides...


I know there has to be at least one person out there with an AD truck and a tape measure....

Would like to help, But we have two problems, !. my cab is off the frame right now, 2. Mine is a '56 and yours I believe is a '53? Someone should be able to help. I was reading your last post when you posted again>

Ok I can't hell you with that number but I might be able to help with other stuff. What you need to do to check the cab for squareness is find a factory mounting point that is the same on both sides. You could probably use something like the spring mounts or maybe even the forward portion of the frame. Then measure to the same spot on the cab on both sides. There isn't much movement that you can do on the cab cause of the way it mounts. There are 2 bolts up front and 2 things that look like spring shackles on the rear of the cab. You do have some adjustment there...the bolt holes are slotted a little. Once you have the cab square then you can start messing with the running boards. I found on my dads truck the running board mounts were bent a little and I had to straighten them a little. I think they had gotten caught on something and pushed a little forward. Maybe this will help you a little. Let me know if there is anything else that I might be able to help you with.

i will try to measure but if i remember the cab to running boards are quite adjustable so i don't think a measurement would be accurate. I think your best route it to square up the frame to cab and also check to see if your running board mounts are bent. use a common reference on your frame and measure your 3 supports...

Well i spent some more time in the shop yesterday... I measured everything I could and have decided that the passengerside needs to go forward a tad bit.. The hood lays down at an angle and lays over onto the passenger side fender and if I move the cab forward a bit on the passenger side i think this will fix that problem. I do have one question though.. Does the front fenders need to come off to make this adjustment?

also to clear up questions I have right now on the radiator support would someone post pictures for theirs so i can see what the PO butchered up?

because of the front 2 mounting bolts to the cab you may be limited in how much you can move it. i would loosen the fender bolts then try moveing it. you might want to woller out the 2 front bolt holes for more adjustments
from the rear of the door jam to the end of the running board on my truck is;
drivers 28 1/8
passenger 28 even

Thank you for th ehelp.. I will try this.. for some reason I just don't want to let this thing go to a scrap yard..... I will try this this weekend..
