electric choke wire color
Rather than ask a FAQ, and to save some time, anybody know what color the choke wire is per say a 1986 v8? I put a meter on 2 wires I thought may have been but.... no juice in the accessory position...
Thx, Bill

Re: electric choke wire color
Bill, I do believe the wire to be pink and come from an oil pressure switch at the back of the engine under the distributor. I do know the wire will only be hot with the engine running. Jim

Re: electric choke wire color
the ones I remember are blue / green like sierra mentioned.... with trucks these old and as many hacks have gotten a hold of them... it could be any color that bulk primary wire is available in.

Re: electric choke wire color
Mine is a greenish color, comes from back behind the oil pressure sender and is hot as long as the key is in the on position. Its only a single spade connector, as the ground from the choke comes from elsewhere. If you are using an aftermarket carb, they recommend a 12 volt source and not the factory wire, but I use it and it seems to work fine. If I can I will grab a picture of mine for you.
