4x4 clutch replacement
The clutch in my 68 250 4 speed 4x4 is beginning to feel like its days are numbered. I've changed lots of clutches in two-wheel drive vehicles. but never in a 4x4. Does the transfer case (Rockwell 221) have to be removed? Both drive shafts? Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: 4x4 clutch replacement
With a little 6 cyl. engine like that you probably would be better off pulling the engine rather then the trans.

Re: 4x4 clutch replacement
Yeah, that thought occurred to me as well. Not looking forward to having to remove all that heavy metal behind the motor.

Re: 4x4 clutch replacement
Yep, that is the probably the easiest way to do it. Removal of the tranny and t-case is far more work in my opinion.
