Creative fuel line routing?

Has anyone else here had to do any creative fuel line routing from the stock pump to the carb? Pulled the engine a few weeks ago to do a rattle can rebuild and add/remove a few things from the engine. Doing the final mockup now and when I went to form up a new fuel line I realized I dont have room for the filter or even a pressure gauge.

I was toying with the idea of putting the feed lines on facing the back and running the fuel filter along the frame and up the fire wall where I would put the pressure gauge and a flexible hose to the carb. Has anyone else had to do something like this or have any ideas/suggestions. Not sure if adding extra line is going to effect my fuel pressure or performance. I can post some pics later just have to find a good picture hosting site.
