Re: Found a blazer chalet for sale at a local auction
Many thanks, I ALWAYS appreciate the eagle eyes out there, there's no way I would have found that ad in all my internet word searches. I'll never understand how people expect to sell anything if they don't give specific details.
I'll call the auction tomorrow to see what I can find out about the serial number & build date for it. One of our Kansas guys in the Yahoo Chalet owners' forum might rescue it for parts....

I wouldnt mind having the drive train and low backs out of it. Probably an auto with a 203, i thought about bidding on it if it went cheap, just to say i had one lol. This ones a little to far gone for a restro in my opinion.

Re: Found a blazer chalet for sale at a local auction
Walts_r, if you happen to drop by there in person, I'd be most grateful if you could get the numbers off the back, see my plate here for those. Of the last three auctions that I've tried to email for serial numbers, only one ever actually responded.
I'll add this one to the big 40+ list I'm maintaining for the Yahoo forum, I had to make a Google map to keep track of where they all are. Anybody who wants the specific contact info for any on the map, PM me.

Re: Found a blazer chalet for sale at a local auction
I cant help you with the numbers off it, but, there used to be one of those in a quasi-junkyard in Central Mass... it was a garage of sorts that would work on the older trucks (and cars) and always seemed to have a couple square bodies around being parted and fixed up... bought a cab and some sheetmetal off them once. It was rusty although not as bad as this one, but for a while they were trying to sell the camper body off it, unsure if they ever did...
If you were trying to figure out where and when any met their demise.. dunno, just thought I'd toss it out there as I'm sure the truck is long gone... |

Do you know the address or cross street reference for the one you saw? If it was within the last several years, I have spotted a few on Google aerial maps and MSN (now called "bing") Bird's Eye views. For example, this MSN photo is of #1753 in Salt Lake City from several years back (upper middle, in the back row facing left). I now know via a Feb 09 eBay sale in Georgia that the truck part was scrapped, but it's entertaining to catch views like this. Weird that the original 2007 Utah ad still hasn't been taken down...
