carb reccomendations

I recently built a 87 Jimmy 4x4. I had a 454 built for it and was going to run a Holley Truck Avenger 770 but after hours at a shop trying to get the carb to work properly, I found out from Holley Tech that my Carb is only for rock crawler applications. I'm just wondering if anybody has had good luck with Demon Carbs for off road trucks or any other reccomendations you may have would be appreciated.

Re: carb reccomendations

First thing welcome!

It you are not doing anything crazy off road a 700 and 750 holly would work just fine. Is your 454 making over 400HP? if not that is what I would run on it.

Re: carb reccomendations

Thanks for the reply. And yes i'm making over 400hp, without a true dyno test i would say i'm somewhere between 475-525hp and 550-650ft.lb of torque. Buddy's keep telling me to go with a Demon, but Holley will try to help me out if i can find my proof of purchase for my carb. I'm just wondering which one would be less likely to give me trouble out wheeling??

Sean Murphy Induction

I have not had one myself, but I have not read one bad thing about them on other forums. Mainly guys running them on big blocks like yours are extremely pleased with the performance.
