exhaust kit
Anyone here running this kit? Is it any good or should I just go to the muffler shop andhave something made up? I have a Dynomax mufffler now but it`s too quite for my taste.

Re: exhaust kit
I haven't used a kit on a truck but helped one of my boys put a Flowmaster cat back kit on his Camaro. It was fairly simple,The long pipe that was one piece factory was two piece in the kit which was cool because we had to hack the factory one out.had the clamps and hangars brackets in this kit.It is loud.

Re: exhaust kit
On my last two trucks that I had, I started puting one 3" flow out one side, and for most SB's you get more power that way and yes the kit's are good, it's better then what you would go out and have someone put it on and your putting in about the same money for better stuff.

So you have actually used the flowmaster kit or did you just have something made up? I emailed a exhaust shop advertizing on craigslist and they want $300 out the door for dual 2.25 tail pipes 40 series flowmaster muffler and 3" slash cut tips. I asked him why I should use him instead of going with the kit and he said the kit didn`t exsist. I sent him the same link I posted above and he said it`s only a single tailpipe and it`s junk. He said he would charge me $125 to install the flowmaster kit but I can do it myself. It wouldn`t be my first exhaust kit I`ve done in the driveway. I just didn`t know if i would be happy with the single 3" tailpipe sound. Anyone got any sound clips of this kit or similar 3" single tailpipe?

Re: exhaust kit
Thanks. I`m more into how it sounds over how the tailpipes look.

Re: exhaust kit
I had the kit on my '87 K5 with the stock 350tbi, and installed it myself in the driveway laying on my back. It can be done fairly easy. Hard part was getting the old exhaust off. Sounded fine to me. You can hear it inside the cab, but it is not too loud. Had enough sound for me outside also.

Re: exhaust kit
Thanks for the input. I think I`m going to go with the kit. It should be louder than what I have now and I`m hoping to notice some perfromance too. I currently have a dynomax muffler with the stock tailpipe.
