4" lift and rear drum brake valve
I want to put a 4" lift on my 89 burb. I have that load valve on the rear, and was wondering what everyone else does about them when they put their lift on. Can I take it off? Is it really that neccessary? I can understand on a pickup, but a suburban has so much more weight in the back. What do you guys do?

Re: 4" lift and read drum brake valve
You could lengthen the linkage, or just remove it. It's kind of nice to have, but I'm not sure how much it even changes the pressure given to the brakes. It might not be much.

Re: 4" lift and rear drum brake valve
All that is for is when it is stock and you have a big load it keeps the ride level. If you are not putting any big loads on it you will be ok with just taking it off.

Re: 4" lift and rear drum brake valve
You got me on that on that one Travis... I have no clue what you are talking about. I am talking about the valve that controls flow to the rear brakes.
