Am I missing the S-10's??
I'm biulding a '91 S-10, and was just searching for other. I need some ideas on a setup. I have a guy in mind to hook this thing up. I just have a little 600hp, and I'll spray a 150shot, so nothing too big. I would like to see a few pics of different setups and get a few ideas.

Re: Am I missing the S-10's??
I'm going to take it to a guy here local and see what he thinks. I need something fast, mine is scary. I'm just a daily driver so nothing crazy. I can hook up with a posi and some good dot slicks probably.

Re: Am I missing the S-10's??
I thought about putting it in my other '67, but the extra tons of weight lol, kept me sticking with the S-10. I'm going for the street cruiser type ride. I want to cruise and have people hear it and not want any. I don't like the idea of an all out dragmobile that breaks, and if you race, it will break. I'm not going to be drag racing fast, mines biult very mild.

Re: Am I missing the S-10's??
I don't think 600 to 750hp is mild

Re: Am I missing the S-10's??
If you are not racing then the weight won't matter. The cool factor in a 67 out weighs the s10 by a ton!

Re: Am I missing the S-10's??
I say I won't race, but we all know how that goes lol. I already had my hood come up at like 100, scariest thing ever! I'm going for the hotrod sound and look with a few dragstrip weekends. I don't want a strickly racer.

Re: Am I missing the S-10's??
I thought about building an s-10 once.Even built one minus the v8 swap.
I am happy I kept my 69 c-10.It already comes with a 12 bolt.Trailing arm rear suspension and it's heavy duty enough to handle the power! There are plenty of full size trucks that will put them s-10's on the trailer...

Re: Am I missing the S-10's??
Keep in mind this is my "S-10" thread. I love my old full size trucks, and yes, when I had my 468 I could tear many small trucks up. Keep in mind that we are talking about my one engine. Is it better in this truck, or a much heavier '67?, answer being the S-10. I don't doubt bigger trucks, but same engine, lighter will win if it hooks, way it is now, and the way it's always been. So yes, if you have a bigger engine then a full size can make S-10's trailer up, but if it's not then probably not.
Please don't turn this into a full size, mini arguement. I'm just trying to find hotrod S-10 builds and get ideas on a look, wheels and stuff, I know my way of hooking up now. |

Re: Am I missing the S-10's??
Nope don't wanna argue either.I am just biased that's all.
Anyway a buddy of mine used to run a very fast s-10.So simple it's stupid and it was stupid fast to.Ran 100 in the eighth.Bone stock rear suspension.Still had 7.5 rearend and all.He ran a dart headed 383 and a th350.Sprayed the crap outta of it. Wish I had some pics.Don't get me wrong there neat little trucks...I have had an s-10 since I was 16 btw.Still have a 99 model.

Re: Am I missing the S-10's??
Yea, this thing is scary, and I like speed lol. They are just to light but I they hook decent they are unbeatable. Heard about one on Pinks, it beat a oldschool car that was spanking everyone. It was stock looking. I didn't watch it, just heard from someone that did. I had this engine in a 5,000lb truck and got tired of it breaking. It wasn't made for this engine. I had this S-10 sitting for a year, and I thought about my '67, but it's bagged now, and has a fresh rebiult 350 for gas mileage. I'd rather the S-10 be a part time driver than my '67 sitting because gas gets high. It was just a better plan. I can race and total this truck and they are a dime a dozen. I total it and next day I buy another that's nicer and straighter for under $500.

Re: Am I missing the S-10's??
Well, it started out as a want to see S-10 builds to get ideas and stuff, but ended up going to what's a better hotrod and what's different lol.
I have build pics, but I just have an iPhone, and can't post pics. I have to go to my in-laws and that's a rare thing. |

I like my iPhone, thank you! I'm fully aware of what home Internet connections cost. I can afford my iPhone, and I love it.
