Is this clock a factory accessory?

Check out this clock...

I pulled this out of the dash of the '63 C30 I stripped. Looking at it closely, I don't think it's factory, but I've seen wierder stuff. It appears as if someone cut out the heater controls and bolted the clock in. The circles you can see on the front are threaded bolts. You can see the nuts on the back. This seems to hold the actual clock unit to the heater control panel. But I don't know.

On the back of the clock itself, it says Borg, some place Wisconsin and some patent numbers.

Personally, I'm leaning towards redneck jimmy jackin' versus a factory accessory. But what say you, the experts?

Not Factory or Dealer, I was hoping it would be a GMC clock of that era. Borg supplied clocks to GM but our Clocks look nothing like that. Look in the Historical thread for original clocks.Bummer.

Looking at it closer when I went to take pics, it didn't look factory, not clean enough. But I've seen accessories that looked less "factory" than this too. Thanks for the info.

Re: Is this clock a factory accessory?

It could be anything..... I know some chevelles had lots of square in the dash.
your best bet if nobody recognizes it is to search "clock" in ebay automotive, and see if there is one listed.
sometimes you can use google images too, try "1965 clock" and see what comes up, and then just keep trying different years.
