Smile Junk Yard Find

Had some time to kill Friday and went to a local U-Pullit junk yard. Asked the guy if he had any 60-66 Chevy Trucks, He said no. I said I'll pay my $2.00 and just go and look around. he said " If we have any they would be back by the 63 GMC" I was like what.......Why looking at the truck look what was on the other side of the blue van, a 60 GMC......

Re: Junk Yard Find

Just talked to a guy at the junk yard and he said they don't sell whole trucks. I know I don't need any of the 60 parts but may have to get some and save them from the crusher.

Dang! That's too bad. That panel looks pretty clean. Who's willing to drive through the fence with a trailer tonight?

Re: Junk Yard Find

The you pull it here in nashville will sell you a pickup cab for 175. Maybe you could get him to sell the body? Of course you would still have the title / VIN # to deal with sine they probably won't give you that with it.

How were the fenders ? I am looking for some for my truck I hate to part up the panel, but if it would keep the fenders from the crusher.

Re: Junk Yard Find

I wish the junk yards around me had old trucks. I would love to go to one out west, maybe find some 305 v6 parts or power steering parts. I bought a spare grille (non chrome) at a swap meet and cost me $50. I started thinking about stocking up on parts for our trucks that aren't reproduced like hoods and GMC and 60-63 chevy grilles. Not to make any money, just to keep them from being scrapped.
