lowering the rear again
Thanks for everyones help in advance.
1985 c10 silverado I have lowering blocks in the rear and want to change over to a better system Just a good basic kit. i lowered it with blocks to keep some of the load capacity. i use the truck for work. Will i be able to carry the same weight with a flip kit or do i have to go with helper bags. Thanks |

Re: lowering the rear again
with the lowering blocks you already have a flipped axle

Re: lowering the rear again
very sorry about how i phrased the question. i want to install helper springs for more load capacity. should that be a problem with the flip kit.
Thanks |

Re: lowering the rear again
Is your frame notched?
Did you remove any of the original springs from the spring pack? Any chance you have pictures of your rear suspension?

Re: lowering the rear again
All plates were welded. As you can tell it was done about ten years ago.

Re: lowering the rear again
I think you should be able to run a helper bag set up on it without compromising the height.

Re: lowering the rear again
I have never used them but I think AirLift makes a good quality product tat is universal fit. You should contact one of the AVS guys on here. They are vendors on the site and may have something available as they do air suspensions.

Re: lowering the rear again
AirRide Technologies also make a "air-over-leaf" kit for your truck.
Do you plan on running a tank and compressor or just adding a set of schrader valves? Also,... post up some pics of the whole truck. It looks really clean!

Re: lowering the rear again
I've used the air lift bag/shock combo on my 93 subby. They worked great as I occasionally towed my 20' car trailer. They rode well too. You can either air compress or schrader valve set up.
They were NOT cheap though ..... about $600 bux. I should have removed them when I sold it. Ratty 46 |
