Rebuild my 66 3.73 Posi
Hi All,
Trying to decide what to do about my worn clutches in my 66 3.73 Posi. I found the clutch kit online but none of the local gear shops will install. Anybody done this... Any good web resources?

Re: Rebuild my 66 3.73 Posi
I've done one before. The hardest part I remember was after you get both clutch packs together and in the case, you then need to install the pinion spiders. This is rather difficult since the clutch packs are thicker now which makes everything a real tight fit. I ended up making a fixture to hold the carrier good and solid. Then I used an old axle shaft, cut it off and welded a handle on it. I inserted that into one of the side gears and used it to turn the gear so I could get the pinion spiders in their correct place. Hope that made sense?
