Re: Project '86
geeze. that thing is so awesome.. I cant wait to get back on my 71. I am gonna use some of the frame techniques you did. I already have a 80's model front crossmember and all bolted on and another that I am gonna "modify" hehe cant wait to see yours with the bed on and laaaaaaid out
ps, how do you get the cab on and off so quick out in the open? are you using some sort of engine hoist of something? I gotta get that part down a little better. I damaged my last cab a little by using a tractor with a front end loader and straps.. sighs Last edited by bigbadjohn84; 08-27-2009 at 04:16 PM. |

Re: Project '86
Me and two buddies have been moving the cab. One on each front corner and one in the center back.

Re: Project '86
How's the fender lip work with the double dueces? Are the tyres inset enough not to get rubbed on the lip of the inner fender while turning?

Re: Project '86
Dropped the hood on yesterday and it does clear the fenders so that is one less thing to worry about!

Re: Project '86
I was wondering if the hood had clearance. Did the hinges clear too? Are you just planning to prop the hood open and not use springs or struts? I'm interested in this step your at because I will be doing it soon too.

Re: Project '86
The hinge has one part that dips down that I am going to cut off. I plan to use gas struts to hold the hood open.
