Re: how old are you 60 -66 owners
Good for you. I started passing tools in the garage when I was about 5, and my sons grew up doing the same thing. It's a great bonding experience and they grow up with mechanical aptitude and comprehensive skills.

Fifty-two here. When you put it in perspective, the truck (63) does not seem that old. Those of us who remember un-jamming gears etc. in "good clothes" have a special appreciation for really DRIVING the trucks that are now our hobby. I am not knocking anyone because my 63 is my daily driver (by choice) now.

I was pretty young when these trucks were new. Even so, two clear memories stand out, how ugly the GMC hood was, and what happened to the new stepside fenders, those were the same fenders off the "old" trucks. Seemed ridiculous that brand new trucks didn't get matching fenders that fit the design of the new truck. |

Love the wheel covers. They use to be so common but just aren't seen anymore.

Re: how old are you 60 -66 owners
I am 23. This is my first older truck, though I had a '78 Plymouth Volare a few years back. Since then I owned a Toyota Camry
Had to get back to the Iron Age. Heh, but the painjob on my truck matches my Camry. Last edited by Amperes; 09-13-2009 at 03:01 PM. Reason: spelling |
