Rear Differential ? with 3.42 gears
I was told that if I am running 33" tires on 15 inch rims on my 90 burb that it would destroy my rear differential. I did have one go bad but it was due to the nut that held the companion flange to the differential came loose and the crush washer was missing. (I think someone had already been into it) Anyway I am looking for a new axle assembly currently. Just wondering if I maintain the 33's am I going to have the same trouble ??

Re: Rear Differential ? with 3.42 gears
I'm not sure why 33" tires would destroy your dif unless they are talking about 4 wheeling.
Regardless, if I were running 33's I would want 3.73 gears as a minimium. It would probably be much better with 4.10's.
