Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
Nice build, I wish I was man enough to deal with the weather... I got my suburban 2 months ago, and it's still parked... I have acquired an engine for it though. Again, nice build!!

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
damn here goes my build thread, i forgot about it for a little bit lol. ya david, those emblems do look good on there man, thanks for powder coating them for me. im still saving up some more $$ to get my drop spindles and to pay someone to recess some cups in my lca's. i finally got the damn air bag fitting hole drilled, i bought another step bit from lowes ($50, ouch) because i broke the 2 from harbor freight lol. i had to rotate the bag and redrill all my holes because the bolt was to close to the side of the frame and i couldnt tighten it up lol. but i finally got one side done, and when it stops raining i should knock out the other side. this side should only take a day or 2 since i know what im doin now lol. also got my fittings in today except the "t" fittings, so maybe i can start plumbing everything in november..

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
heres what my holes ended up lookin like, lol. the top and bottom holes were the 1st 2 i drilled for the bag bolts, and the 1 on the far left was the fitting hole. so i clocked the bag, and the left and right holes are now the bag bolt holes, and the one on top i widened open for my fitting. i switched out the bolts to 1 1/2 " instead of 2" and they still seem to long. maybe get some 1" ones i guess, but that seems too small..
this is why i had to clock the bag... [IMG][/IMG] heres the new holes.. [IMG][/IMG]

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
I am going to put washers with lock washers on the bolts...maybe that would make up the difference...

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
i do have the lock washers in, and 1 huge fender washer for each one, its just not in that picture. when it stops raining over here ill snap a picture and see whats really keeping it from bolting all the way up. i really thought 1 1/2" should be just right...i think i seen 1 1/4" too so maybe ill try those

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
Let me know because I have 1 1/2"...I am pretty sure I checked with the lower bolt and it went in around 1"...add the thickness of the frame/spring mount/ and the two washers and 1 1/2 should be perfect???

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
Weird, did you try it off the truck and see how far they stuck up when completely screwed in? That's what everyone has recommended is the 1 1/2"....I guess 1 1/4 is the way to go???

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
When you cup ur LCAs, dont go as deep as my first set, they hung down & drug the ground
They were 3" deep What I like better is plating the bottom of the LCAs then cut the hole & drop in some 8" pipe then weld it all up Cant wait to see it down man |

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
you mean plate it up from underneath, drop the pipe in, measure the top to sit flush and cut the rest off then weld it in?

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
well, i thought i had it all done untill i started bolting up the u bolt...i didnt tighten the bags yet, but when i jacked up the trailing arm and put in the u bolt, my bag kinda leaned and now doesnt sit flat up against the frame. are my holes off or something?
i guess my little orange template i made wasnt perfect lol.. [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG]

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
looks like you need to either tighten the bag bolts down or get some shorter ones

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
i def need shorter ones, but i just widened one of the bolt holes and sits flush now. before i ran my airline to the t fitting, it looked like bag deflated crooked...but now i ran them and aired it up and down it looks straight. im gonna wash up then snap some pics...

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
definitely. I still need drop spindles and recessed cups in my lca's. for the rear I still need drop blocks and to notch the frame...still a lot of work to do!
