p/s swap question

I've looked in the FAQ (maybe not as thoroughly as i should have) I'm wondering if the GM p/s gearboxes are interchangeable? For example would I be able to take the gearbox out of my 2nd gen camaro and put in my '72 c/10? Is it possible to grab one off a later IROC? I'd like a quick ratio box without going into a lot of hassle. the pitman arm is different between the manual steering and power steering. what about the connection to the steering column? Thanks for helping out with my homework!

Re: p/s swap question

I know that a lot of cars have the box on the inside of the frame & these trucks have it on the outside

I would also expect the bolt pattern to be different

So in short, prolly not without modification
