Torque specs for shackle, ubolts, etc

finally getting around to my 5/7 drop tonight and my hanyes manual was stolen out of my truck and my hard drive for my computer is in maine at the moment and dont have my pdf of it.

can someone post what are the specs for the ubolts on the rear axle, leaf spring, and shackle?

searched google and here but didnt find anything. dont wont to over torque anything, as i've previously learned from going crazy with my impact gun. thanks guys.

PS: this site is amazing. i come here for all my chevy needs. i visit this site and jeepforum, and between the 2 i'm able to do all i want to do to my cars.

TIGHT. dont tighten the shackles till the truck is on the ground though. and tighten the ubolts evenly. out of the 100s of suspension jobs ive done ive never have use a torque wrench. you will know when its tight.

im sure some people will disagree with me but i do what i feel comfortable with.

I use the longest rachet I can then give em a double grunt. That's usually good enough.

As fiddy9apache be sure to wait till it's on the ground to tighten the shackles.

Also, it's a good idea to drive it a bit and double check the u-bolts. The are prone to stretch after a bit of use and need snugged down again.

ive only gotten the drivers side spring out so far, go to dark to continue last night. what a PITA!!! those ubolts are. finally found my grinder and just cut them off, took almost an hour to get one bolt off, took 45 seconds to cut threw the ubolts...lol.

ran into a little problem with having to flip the leaf spring bolt(cant seem to get it to stop spinning with vise grips, pliers, etc. is it allright to give it a little notch with the grinder to give the pliers some bite?

still dont know why its necessary to flip the pack bolt, but following my instructions to the letter from here. the passenger side is going to be gravy now that i got my grinder going. damn shackles that came with my drop seem like they are way to long, cant see how they are going to fit....

Are you talking about the leaf spring center bolt?

Are you reading your instructions correctly???

You have a 1/2 ton right?

I am reading my WC flip kit instructions...it say NOWHERE to remove the leaf spring center bolt for 1/2 tons, ONLY 1-tons...it says for C-3500 only

so you dont even have to flip center bolt? i saw atleast 3 builds i have saved where they flipped it...

any clarification on this would be great.

and yes, i have a 1/2 ton shortbed. looks just like the leafs in the post above...

No instructions from WC? Both kits I got from them had instructions. They are on green paper.

But you don't need to flip the centering pin.

Perhaps contact WC and have them send you instructions before you proceed...might save you some future hassle.

I previously contacted WC and sport truck direct and never recieved any instructions. I never got the copy of the bill either. Tried searching here and google for a PDF or whatever of the instructions and never found them. Be a big help if I had them but don't. Well good then since I could get the bolt out.

Did the instructions tell you what to do with installing the shackle? I know how to pull the rear apart and put back together but shackle has me worried.
