awesome weekend!!!

This weekend was a blast! I didn't win the T/A, it went to some deserving redneck.
Dave came in Friday night, after a few beers we went to work on the frame and got some more cleanup done. Saturday we went redneck people watching at the T/A giveaway, saw some dude with a dressed up mannequin riding with him in his car on the way. Finally made it down to Dallas about 7:00 and ate the worst ass flavored BBQ ever. Thanks Izzy!
After getting lost thanks to Dave's bro-in-law's killer directions, we made it to the swap meet about 11:00 on Sunday. Sold lots of stuff before I even unloaded it, then it was pretty dead.
I had arranged to buy a 383 from a Southen Bowties guy, helluva deal on a short block. He even threw in a chrome oil pan, chrome dipstick, chrome Edelbrock valve covers, and the timing chain cover. You guys will never guess how cheap I got this 383 for. Less than 5k miles on the build, 010 4 bolt block. I need to get it off the tire and on to an engine stand before I can really give it a good once over.
We started walking around and ran into a guy with brand new Dodge bucket seats, one was still plastic wrapped. Dave asked how much, we expected $250-300, the guy said $125!!! I offered $100 and got them for $110. They even came with the seatbelts.
All in all a very fun time. Next year we'll definitely have to make it down Friday night so we can be there Saturday. I had too much stuff I couldn't get rid of on Sunday!
Thanks to Brandon for some great brisket! Scott, it was good to meet you!

Yep Greg, it was nice to meet you and Dave. I too had a good time out there! Sold my TH400 and got the intake and floor shifter I wanted. My buddy Steve cleaned up by selling most of his stuff! Saturday was definitely a busier day so I'm sure you would have got rid of most of your stuff then. Glad y'all made it back alright. Right after you left, all hell broke loose. Brandon's postive cable grounded out on the header and both his postive and negative cables melted all the insulation off of them and the positive connector just busted off! It was a terrible smell and mess. But, we got him rigged-up and home (well hopefully he made it home!).

I keep hearing that Saturday was the day to be there. Oh well, there's always next year.
Sorry to hear about Brandon's truck! Between him and Ryan's truck, you guys were busy trying to get everyone home. Find any goodies that were left behind?

Nope, no goodies. We were definitely one of the few people left when we got out of there. It emptied out fast after y'all left.

Naturally, what's the point of being there after Dave, Valerie, and myself left???

For those of you that know Dave and me, feel sorry for Valerie. She came with me and had to listen to us all weekend long. She hung in there pretty good though and got her own shots in.

I'd feel sorry for anyone stuck w/ you two clowns in a truck for more than 15 minutes.
Had a great time but forgot to snag some of brandon's BBQ.
Sorry again about Pappa's BBQ not being as good as that Rib Crib place you guys kept throwing at me.

Man, that dude puking was hilarious, and he had locked up his brakes to get there.
Also forgot to mention trying to sell my seats back to the tool I bought them from, what a frikkin tard! LMAO, he had no clue.

LMAO!! I had a great time as well other than the electrical mishap. I'm glad I could make up for the bad BBQ at Pappa's. Thanks again Greg for the great deal on the tires and rims We had a great time out there for sure. Greg got the best deal out there with the engine and seats. Then trying to resell the seats and even to the guy he just bought it from WTF? We laughed hard on that one!! Hell even got part of my truck cleaned up by a guy doing a demo on his wash and wax product. He was way over priced though. But the truck looks somewhat better. He just needed to finish the whole damn truck
