What where they thinking?

I started grinding the bondo off of the drivers side door ( it looked like the door was pregnant) and discovered the p/o had brazed a new doorskin over the old door??????? After removing the panel I discovered the only rust is in the lower front corner!

Re: What where they thinking?

All I can say I have some of that stupidity on mine too I have yet take it off but it is crazy.

On my front fenders they bought patch panels and put them over top the old metal on the front and rear of both fenders and then put bondo over top

The bad part is that even though they did this mine are still not savable as far as I know because they are rusted where they mount to the grill support

Re: What where they thinking?

I know what ya mean. My trucks p/o was also stupid. I took 4 floor patches out of my truck as I'm about to redo some bottom parts of the cab and floor. Ever seen anyone patch a floor with road signs? specifially & ironically 2 "NO HEAVY TRUCKS" signs (mines a LWB 3/4ton) were cut in half and riveted to patch the rusted floorpans and back corners of the floor.

Old road signs are what many of the rat rod fellows use.

You need two tools in life: duct tape and WD-40. If it moves and it shouldn't, you use duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, you use WD-40.
