Manual steering
I have a 67 short box with power steering,at the top end it seemed to float so on the second pass I took off the belt and it works alot better. Is a manual steering box still available for these trucks or will something else work like an s10 or newer unit, thanks for the help,

Re: Manual steering
FYI - it is very common to just plug off the lines on a PS box and run it as a manual - it will work just fine and slows down your reaction which is a good thing in a truck going fast down the drag strip.

Re: Manual steering
There was a power box on my truck when i bought it with the SBC. I thought I'd retain it going to the Gen 3 motor. When my plans changed and decided to go faster than high 13's, I decided to swap it out for a manual box. It honestly drove a million times better. With the power box, it would never return to straight, way tooo twitchy up top.

Re: Manual steering
Manual box is also lighter.. Not to mention getting rid of the power steering unit will also shave even more weight..
