I was junk yard shopping today and ran across a full size chevy van that had a rear bumper that was in perfect shape. It looks exactly like the sport bumpers everyone has. I can get it for 50 bucks but I dont wanna buy it if theres no way to make it fit. Does anyone know if it will work? Also there was a ton of suburbans that have tow hitches. Does anyone know if those will bolt up to a truck? i have an 83 1/2 ton by the way.

That's a negative on the tow hitch...sadly.

I had the same idea. I snagged one off a Sub to use as a light duty hitch on my Dually, but the rears of the Sub frames have a break in them. They sweep downward, whereas the truck frames are straight all the way out the back.

...and, to my knowledge, the vans are wider.

Not sure about the width differences, if there are any..but I do know for a fact the bumper bolt holes are in different locations between pickups/Burbs/Blazers vs. vans.

you can make it work with some fabricating my granpa did it

The framerails on the van are way wider than on the truck so the bolt holes won't line up at all...
