Re: A Devil of a Truck
Nice truck but not exactly done in my taste, especially the steering wheel.

Whats on the dash? I kinda like the taillights mounted in the cab, if they work as interior lighting.

Only worth it if COOP actually did that and signed it. Pretty cool though.

Re: A Devil of a Truck
To me,it`s another one of our trucks fallen victim to yet another misinterpretation of the past. It`s a confused look to me.The truck`s a good 10 years after that era, large diameter billet wheels are now,and the bed floor makes makes me think this was done for a homecoming parade or a school with the Red Devils football team. Why paint a bed floor so that it can be useless?Even if you never put anything in there it`ll be impossible to keep up.What do you do,wash and wax it all the time?I`d have at least spent another $500 or so on a bed cover and painted that(if I had this person`s taste). Then,it would be seen and the truck would only be 1/2 worthless for hauling something.

Re: A Devil of a Truck
That painting looks good, but should be on a wall...steering wheel is hideous in that truck!!! Was the hand lever emergency brake available in 68? My 67 has it, and for some reason I thought it was specific to 67, I'm sure someone will chime in.

the thing on the dash says TAXI.
change the wheels and get rid of that steering wheel. Oh, and put a dash pad on it. The bed painting is neat.... but why put it in the bed? |

Re: A Devil of a Truck
If it were mine, I'd change the steering wheel, probably the road wheels, paint the hood hinges black, install a dash pad, get rid of the lump on top of the dash... and oh yeah, I would never have chromed the cowl.
But it's not mine...

Re: A Devil of a Truck
I like the overall feel of the truck and the work done looks good but there are a lot of things that just don't go together. chrome cowl and a gold mexi-chain wheel. a big Von Dutch sticker on the window and no pin striping (that i seen) and the wheels just don't fit it. The interior looks nice though, I think the thing on his dash is something for the radio. Thats where I ran the connection for my ipod

Re: A Devil of a Truck
Well lets see...I try not to participate in slamming other peoples rides, especially considering some of the stuff I drive, lol.
I do agree its a little bit too much of a mixture of old style with the new. But over all its not a bad ride with a little tweak here and there. I dont see the problem with the painting of the bed floor. There are a ton of trucks on this board that have beds so pristine there is no way you would put stuff in there...I see no difference between them and this. Steering wheel needs a horn cap to finish off a little. I kinda dig it, but more of a low rider style thing. I had a friend do that with his dash except he filled in all the holes...looked pretty cool. Maybe some sort of chrome strip to cover up the holes or something along those lines. I like the red roof markers inside the cab. Neat idea, really thinking outside the box. Put some chrome reverse wheels on it with some thin whites. The stuff painted white are no different than a lot of guys here that paint parts lime green or purple etc etc etc and people ooh and ahh over it. Maybe they are just being polite because they are board members? Overall to me it wouldnt take much to make this truck flow just a little better. Lots of potential there. |

Re: A Devil of a Truck
Everything nice I said about that truck I take back now. It would be a really good starting point for a truck of *my* taste but most of the things that I don't (and some other people) like is all just simple take off and replace

Re: A Devil of a Truck
Are they tail lights or the cab roof lights? Kinda different idea.

Re: A Devil of a Truck
^ Looks like roof lights. I bet they work; can't see going to that much trouble and not hooking them up.
There are some details I don't care for, but someone did a ton of work on that truck and it shows. The buyer can make a few changes (if he wants to) and will be happy as a clam.

Re: A Devil of a Truck
Not too bad actually... I could do without the chrome cowl and chain steering wheel, but overall there is a lot of creativity in that truck.

Meh, to cheezey for me.
One of my biggest pet peeves is body color paint on places it shouldn't be, and this rig has it everywhere.
