Show quality '57 grill. Pics
Took me 4 or 5 years to get to this point. this is an original chevrolet grill from 57. first time i had it rechromed the ******* didnt take a very small nick out of one of the corner peices and another very small ding out of the center hoop. just rechromed it and sent it back to me
Few years later, and another chrome guy had my parts. took me nearly another year to get them back. Well here she is, one beautiful perfect grill

Few more. could have pop-riveted it all together if i would have had a few bigger rivets. had to bolt a few peices on with machine screws. Had it all back in one peice in about 15 minutes

What a timely topic. I am getting ready to send mine out to get done.
How much did it cost you and where did you get it done?

Re: Show quality '57 grill. Pics
Had a friend that builds street rods for a living send the 3 pieces off that I needed to put the grill back together. One end piece, and the inter and outer center pieces. No dents at all, and that was 350 bucks. I had payed $400 buck 5 years ago to have a almost perfect grill chromed and it came back with the same two little dings that it had when I sent it. And he forgot to do the inter center piece. Called the guy up and He said O, I don't take out dents, I just chrome what you send me.... Well I sent it back to him to fix it, never to be seen or herd from agian. So I had a $400 pile of shiney parts. I had a perfect painted grill in my truck, but I wanted a chrome one. I found a rechromed OEM on ebay (this is before they started repoping them) that had never been put back together from being rechromed, so I got it for $400, put it together and all was good for awhile. The chrome is alittle thin in the corners and you have to keep waxing it to keep it from rusting. So I took my good painted grill apart and sent the pieces that I needed to put my first grill back together with. AND 5 years and a ton of money, I am finely happy with my grill.

Re: Show quality '57 grill. Pics
You're not actually gonna put that on a truck now are you? Way too nice, what with rocks, rain, mud, dust. Nope, better keep it in the house.
