Show me your headliner

I have an 85 Suburban, and it's headliner is lacking. It's just the pressboard thats left and even it is sagging. I don't have $500 for a new headliner so im kicking around the idea of using "dynamat" type stuff in it's place. Any other idea is welcome, I just need to figure something out.

Re: Show me your headliner

recover the press board and where the ribs go across the roof run small zap screws with some snap on covers
or use adhesive on the ribs

Re: Show me your headliner

I haven't installed it yet, but this will be my headliner. Picked it up at a local shop today for a couple bucks. Came with 4 speakers and a slot for a cd player.

You lucky mf!!!!!!!!!!!!! How come I can't find good deals like that. Must be true that all of the good parts are in Pa. My wife is from Easton (up by Allentown). I manage to have some good luck up there buying a 3970010 block and crank over Christmas

Re: Show me your headliner

Nice and neat/tidy setup with the black one,
my 85 burb is a custom setup, they used little strips of wood, screwed in around the usual spot that the stock liner ends, stretched fabric side to side ,held on with very small staples,in the middle is a large console more or less holding middle of the front up,but there is seams with ribs further down(side to side),pink fiberglass in the roof, but the strips of wood hide under the factory trim when in place.I had an 87 burb hit while parked, my source of my blue insides ,while i store and restore the tan insides, doors with wood inlay....the whole rear of the box area is covered with materialed paneling now being removed, gona replace with 1/4 inch or so stained plywood
